Barnard's zines are created by womxn and non-binary people, a collection emphasis on by women of color and a new (2019) effort to acquire more zines by transwomen. We collect zines on feminism and femme identity by people of all genders. The zines are personal and political publications on activism, anarchism, body image, gender, parenting, queer community, riot grrrl, sexual assault, trans feminisms, and other topics. We welcome visitors from everyday zine lovers to international scholars. Come by yourself or bring a friend, or bring your class in for a workshop. Contact zines@barnard.edu. Barnard Zine Library News COVID-19 Updates for Barnard Library Barnard Library is following Columbia University policy on events and classes. This means we are canceling or postponing all events through the end of March. March 10, 2020 New-to-Us Zines: March 5, 2020 This week we added zines about grandmothers, zine fests, Kate Middleton, ways to conserve resources, kittens, visiting Portland (Oregon), IMATS, heart unfelt apologies, riot grrrl, mental health in library staff, and a queer teen about to start school at Hampshire in the early 1990s. March 5, 2020 New-to-Us Zines: February 28, 2020 This week we added zines about snorkeling with eels, mental health in the library profession, zine life (with zine reviews).
